What's a few pounds between friends...

I thought writing a blog would be easy, well its not. You have to make time, which I haven't being doing. For those you have been checking my page I'm sorry i haven't kept you updated.
If I'm been honest, i have been exercising but I haven't been eating 100% healthy :-/
But I have been doing a lot of soul searching. I have been watching Paul Mckenna: I can make you thin, My Big fat diet show and You are what you eat.
I have come to realise its not about a diet its about eating right, eating healthy. Paul Mckenna talked about loving your self, visual yourself happy, remembering that feeling etc. My Big fat diet show is a two week diet that will help drop a dress size. You only eat 1200cal a day (Normal daily average is 1940cal) You are recommended to only do this diet for two weeks...then what?!! Go back to eating 1940cal a day, and put back on a dress size.
Dr Gillian Mckeith, you are what you eat says the aim is for you to make simple changes that will begin to take effect almost immediately and will last forever.
That sounds good to me. I will start to read her book and implement the changes to my families life.

I don't mind if i don't lose weight but i want to look good naked, feel good in a bikini and LOVE ME :-)

Day one and it has begun...

Well, well, well....Working out with a DVD shows me how unfit I really am. I only managed 25mins of the workout (the workout is 60mins) I also managed 10 sit-ups. lol
An A for effort... me thinks....lol

Planning to go to the gym in the morning but as we don't have Elom tonight i'm thinking a lay-in would be better.

What can I eat when its late and you are going to bed in a hour or so?

Does popcorn and pick n mix go against my diet?? Oh well, its early days.
Oh just watched Avatar...Worth a trip to the cinema :-)

Nite nite

I have one wish, a goodnights sleep!!

Elom is 10mths he weighs 25lb but he still doesn't sleep through the night!!
I have tried Goodnight milk (they claim its thicker milk). I also wake him up at 11pm but he still wakes up. I've spoken to the health visitor today and she has told me I need to give him a good portion of solid food plus dessert then his bottle. When its time for bed give him another bottle. This amount of food and milk should keep him until morning. If he wakes up (as I'm sure he will) give him cooled boiled water. He will cry and most likely reject it but I must be strong. :-(
I most likely experience three sleepless nights. (Make that 5, Elom is stubborn) his brain will eventual work out that milk is not on the menu at 3am!! And he will sleep till a reasonably hour!!
I will start tonight. Wish me luck!!

UPDATE!!!

Elom loved the water in the middle of the night!! I continued for a week. Then one night, he wouldn't go back to sleep after his water. It took over an hour to get him back to sleep!! An hour is a long time but at 3am, its even longer!!!!!
So enough was enough. I knew something had to change, i had to take back the control in this mother, son relationship. I used my favourite search engine, Google :-) I found millions of mothers going through the same thing. But the answers were the same. ROUTINE!!! And let them cry. I was happy to 'let him cry' (Does that make me a cure mum? hehehe)
This is the routine:
5pm Dinner
6pm Bath time and singing
7pm Night bottle and then bed.

He cried as soon as his body hit the bed. I would leave in for a least 10mins, then go in and kiss him, wipe his face and leave. I didn't take him out of the bed. He had to learn crying doesn't mean you get picked up.
I would leave him for a further 10mins, if he hadn't fallen to sleep I would repeat the first step again.
My next worry was him waking up in the middle of the night and crying the house down. Possible waking the neighbours. The first night he slept all the way through till 6am. WOOHOO!!!
The second night he woke up at 4am, i heard him doing his sleepy cry, but I didn't go in. Thankfully it didn't get any louder and within 5-7mins he was back to sleep.
I can now officially say, "my son sleeps through the night"
Happy baby, Happy mummy :-)
